How to use the bubble text generator
- Type or paste your text into the box. The white circled, black circled, parenthesized, squared and black squared versions all update as you type.
- Look through the list and pick the style you like. Check a short preview first, since each style has a different look and width.
- Press the Copy button next to that style, then paste the result into your bio, post, comment or message.
What bubble text is and where it comes from in Unicode
Bubble text is a group of styles where each letter sits inside a shape or a pair of brackets. This page offers five: white circled letters, black circled letters, letters in parentheses, squared letters and black squared letters. They look like fonts, but they are not. Each letter is a separate Unicode character, the same kind of symbol as an arrow or a currency sign, so nothing is downloaded or installed on your device.
Unicode includes these symbols in blocks called Enclosed Alphanumerics and Enclosed Alphanumeric Supplement, which cover things like older character sets and numbered lists. Because they are ordinary text characters, you can copy them into almost any text field. The generator swaps each letter from A to Z for its matching symbol. Spaces, punctuation and accented letters stay as you typed them, and the conversion happens in your browser.
Where to use circled and squared letters
Bubble letters work best as small accents. In a bio, you can set one word in black circled letters, add a squared label such as NEW above a link, or write a short tagline in parentheses style. Circled letters also make tidy markers for lists or section headings in a post. Mind the limits: an Instagram bio holds 150 characters, a Discord nickname 32, and an X (Twitter) display name 50. Check the counter in the app, because special characters may be counted differently.
Be careful with account names. Facebook profile names, Epic and Fortnite display names, and some game nicknames may reject special characters or ask you to change them. If you want bubble text there, put it in your bio, posts or comments instead, or test the name first before relying on it. Discord nicknames and X display names are usually more relaxed, but a quick test is still a good idea.
Tips and limitations to know first
Keep bubble text short. A word or a short phrase looks playful, while a whole paragraph is slow to read because each letter is wide and detailed. Black circled and black squared letters look heavy and stand out, white circled letters look lighter, and parentheses make text wider still. Some of these styles may only have capital letters, so lowercase text can appear as capitals. Numbers are not converted in every style, so check the preview.
Not every device can show these symbols. Old phones, older software and apps with limited fonts may display empty boxes instead of letters. Screen readers often read these characters badly or skip them, so use bubble text for decoration only. Do not use it for phone numbers, addresses, prices, links or anything people must understand. Paste your text into the app first and see how it looks before you post.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the five bubble styles?
White circled letters have an outline, and black circled letters are solid circles with light letters. Parenthesized letters sit between brackets. Squared letters have an outlined box, and black squared letters have a solid box. Try each one with your text to compare.
Do lowercase letters and numbers work?
Only Latin letters A to Z are converted, and numbers work only in some styles. Some styles may have only capital forms, so lowercase letters can turn into capitals. Other characters, such as punctuation and accented letters, stay unchanged. The preview shows the exact result.
Can I use bubble text as my username or game name?
It depends on the platform. Facebook profile names, Epic and Fortnite display names, and some game nicknames may refuse special characters. Bios, posts and comments are safer places. If you want it in a name, test it first and keep a plain-text backup.
Why do I see empty boxes instead of letters?
The device or app you are using has no font that includes those characters, which happens most on old devices. The text itself is fine. Try another app or browser, or choose a different style. Screen readers may also read these symbols badly.
